Travel Day to San Diego

Liz and I are heading out to San Diego, to attend my cousin Joanne’s wedding. We flew out on Friday, giving ourselves the full day to travel and get settled before the festivities.

The couple had some kind of “emotional support animal” certificate, and their dog apparently had some kind of anxiety thing as well? To the point where they had Xanax for the dog? I’m not sure what the deal was.
Lots of veggies, and lots of plates! I forgot to take a photo until after I had already fed them their dinner, so it’s a total of 12 plates if you count the ones they’re snacking on in the back.
My first thought was to get around this guy as quickly as possible, because the movies taught me that the straps were going to snap at any minute. And every single one of those things was going to be bouncing on the highway like basketballs.
I’m still laughing, looking over these photos. And I still can’t wrap my head around the odds and the sheer randomness, of how these dots all connected together.
While I used my phone to take photos while overseas, Michelle and Mike had their camera with them. We all traded photos just a day or so ago, and here are a few from their bunch.
We’re officially back in Chicago! Although it seems I picked up a bit of a cough, during our underground tour of the chalk caves at Taittinger.
