Blog work
I was originally going to do work work tonight, but two friends (Justin and Matt) convinced me otherwise. Justin stressed the separation of work and personal space, and Matt emphasized that work done on personal time should bring about two elements: recognition and reward.
So what did I do? I ended up working on my own stuf instead. Felix work. :)
I’ve been kicking around the idea of making a Flash interface for all the IM chat conversations I have on this thing. In the previous version of the blog, they’re all text. And now… they’re less appealing, visually. A huge part of these types of IM conversations have as much to do with timing as they do with text. And so Flash seems like the perfect medium to handle this.
My intentions are to have one .swf file that displays a given conversation. Each conversation will be converted into XML, and I’ll have to work out some sort of pacing, so that I can mimic delay (if I wanted to). I didn’t make much headway today, but I got started… which felt nice.
