Summer Jam
Incidentally, this is what I was working on for a good while. Ben’s design, my Flash. Oh, and one of the coolest things is that all the artist areas are driven by XML (as are the sponsors, sorta). One of the tricker requirements this time around with this microsite was that they wanted the ability to update things on the fly. But they still wanted a Flash-type site.
So – there’s technically only one artist.swf file… but based on the variable it’s passed, it looks for a particular XML document and populates based on artist name. In a perfect world, the nav would have also been dynamically driven, so they could add artists on the fly. But we compromised: hard-wire the nav, but give them room to edit the artists. At this point, Hot 97 should be able to update each artist’s "page," including the bio, image, audio track and any links to other pages. In the coming weeks, they’re going to have a ton of the artists in studio, so they’re going to want to post interviews, songs performed at the radio station, etc etc. Hence, the need for them to "update" on their own.
Fancy. :)
