Taxes

I had an appointment today to meet with someone to do my taxes. The morning went rather slowly, but I rushed out around 1:45 hoping I wouldn’t be late for my 2:00 PM appointment.

What I thought would be a quick hour turned into a drawn-out hour forty five. And I gotta say, there’s something unnerving watching your finances being handled on someone else’s computer (especially when that computer’s resolution is set to 800×600). In all honesty, some of the software icons I saw (this is H&R Block we’re talking about) were downright embarassing.

I swear to Christ, one of the buttons was an animated gif of some guy working at a computer. But his back was to you, and you could see the monitor flickering, and he had animated sweat showering off his head in a crown-like motion.

Still. At the end of the day, all’s well. I may actually get a somewhat decent return this year (compared to last year). By the time I picked up some lunch, and got back to the office it was damn near 4:00 PM. After eating and shooting the shit with Rey and Matt, it was close to 4:45 PM. Answer a few e-mails, catch up on some voicemail… and it’s time to go home.

Man oh man. I gotta run more errands during the day. :D
