Dionaea muscipula
Today, Matt walked into the office with a small parcel from the post office. As a few of us were milling around and talking, we look over and see Matt remove three objects from his box – each one looked like the plastic container you would get if you ordered a sundae.
On closer inspection, we discovered he had purchased some Venus Flytraps (pics are a bit off here, lots to learn yet about color correction).

Matt was kind enough to trigger one of the traps, so I could record it (avi format, DivX codec).
Oddly, I had just read an article on Venus flytraps when I visited Columbus. At airports, I turn into a magazine junkie, and I happened to buy a copy of Scientific American. And hey, check it out: they’ve got an archive of all the questions from Ask The Experts! Rock!
Searching around a bit, I came across the International Carnivorous Plant Society, as well as the Carnivorous Plant FAQ. God, I love the Internet.
