When God Created Perfect Days, He Was Thinking of Today

Seriously – I haven’t had such a fantastic day in a long, long time!

This morning was the Q101 Christmas party, the one thrown by the Sales Department. Tons of good food, and I had me some biscuit and gravy, a made-to-order omelette, and two Bloody Mary’s. All before 10:30 AM. Add a big piece of birthday cake, and I was almost paralyzed until noon.

Then, Ben decides that he wants to go see The Two Towers. So, he orders up two tickets and he and I make plans to ditch work to go watch a movie. Justin and Matt both elect to stay behind, and when 2:00 rolls around, Ben and I jet.

Keep in mind, though, that Ben had already seen The Two Towers a day or two ago. And, he had promised his wife he’d see it with her.

Me: So, you’re going to see this movie a total of three times?
Ben: Yeah.
Me: Cool. Just checking.

What a fun-filled afternoon. The movie was excellent, and I had a blast sitting through all 3 plus hours of the thing. Ben and I were joking around a bit, and the whole experience was all the sweeter since we ditched work.

By the time we left the theater, it was close to 5:30. There was a HUGE line of folks waiting for the next LOTR showing. I secretly laughed at them, chastising them for not cutting work to see this film. :)
