I only know you as a link from Alex (whom I also have never really met) via Laura’s blog. I do find your work (the flash poems especially) to be interesting – and as a fellow Chicagoan (in a similar field, and similar age bracket) I find your experiences in the city interesting too (the photographic documentation is fun – again, part of what I do as well).

BTW – yes, Filter is on the site of the late, great, Local Grind. Used to be my favorite cafe in the city. I’ll have to pop by Filter and see if it holds up. The photos on the wall (the color “jacket” series mural) used to be on display at the Gourmand in Printers Row – my old ‘hood. I thought they were by one of the owners – interesting if he is breaking out a new cafe (and not calling it a Gourmand).

Keep up the good work – we’ll have to actually meet sometime.
