Rewind: Morning
Today was going to be this super productive day where I went on a bunch of errands. After I found out about my car problems, my motivation level sort of plummeted. I walked to K-Mart, the grocery store, and picked up a few items. On the way home (this was around 8:30 AM), I passed by a Hispanic man with a small cart, umbrella, and a few coolers. I walked by him, and watched another guy buy a few items. I decided – what the hell. I walked back, and asked what, exactly, he was selling.
Both men were a bit amused at my interest, and it turns out the vendor was selling tamales – chicken, pork. And some drink that I’ve forgotten the name of. Chapadurro? It was some kind of hot, sweet drink – out of rice?
Well, I decided to give it a go. Got a small chapadurro(?) and one chicken tamale. After a few sips, I have to admit that the chapadurro(?) wasn’t really for me. It was sweet, but not sweet enough if that makes any sense. But the tamale was pretty damn good; tiny, but good. For both, it was a buck fifty. I’m glad that I at least gave it a try.
