Bordeaux, Day 2: Lazy Morning, Wine Tasting in Saint-Émilion, Unexpected Peacocks, Dinner in Libourne

A slow start to the day. I hopped in the car with Kirt, Anne, and Jackson… and we just drove around for a good while, getting lost along some of the roads near the chateau.
Everywhere you look, there’s a winery. Which I guess makes sense, since we’re in Bordeaux.
But as far as the eyes can see, there are rows of grape vines. The roads are small and narrow, and everything is charming. There’s a stillness everywhere.

Paige, hanging out by the kitchen window, looking out over the pool.

In the late afternoon, a group of us went out for a bit of wine tasting. We didn’t have any wineries planned for today, and ended up driving to Saint-Émilion, and found a small wine bar that could accommodate us.

Wandered around the town a bit, afterwards. Very small and walkable, with a lot of shops.

Back at the chateau, Grace finds a few visitors loitering near our front door.

They seemed very interested in all the windows. And my guess is, if we let them… they’d come right inside (and never leave).

We headed out for a big group dinner tonight, driving to nearby Libourne.
