Dear Brain, Thanks for Nothing
Two days ago, I woke up in the middle of the night. I was a bit disoriented and hazy, since it was around 1 or 2 in the morning. I started smiling then, because I remembered the dream I was having, only moments before. I was in a kitchen somewhere, making breakfast or lunch (it still seemed bright outside in the dream). I was standing over the stove with a girl next to me, and we were joking around. It was a playful, romantic sort of scenario. Then – something happened (I forget what), and I decided to feign being angry. I responded by pretending to playfully bite the girl on the nose. A silly gesture relaly, and more of a fairly exaggerated sort of motion.
But when I tried to playfully bite her on the nose, I miss and accidentally kiss her. And we stand there for a while, in the kitchen, over this hot stove, just kissing.
And then I woke up.
In bed, I thought "Wow. What a pleasant dream."
After a few moments, I suddenly realized… the girl in my dreams was my ex-girlfriend.
Stupid brain.
