Dinner with MaryAnn

MaryAnn and I attended OSU a few years back. I was studying poetry, she was studying fiction – both of us were in the Creative Writing Program there. Well, she moved back to Chicago (she’s lived here before) a few months ago, and we finally got together this evening for dinner.

It was quick, but we were able to catch up. We talked about our jobs, Columbus folks, and the upcoming holiday plans. A long while back (and it might have been almost two years ago), MaryAnn took me to this cool coffee shop that I’ve long since forgotten the name of. We made a plan to track the place down. Uncommon Grounds? All I recall is that it was cold as hell outside, and we lucked out with two nice, leather seats right in front of a blazing fireplace. And anytime the whipped cream in our hot chocolates got low, someone came by with a can and filled it up again. Next time we go, I’m taking pictures.
