Picking Up Emma

We swung by Justin’s place (where Emma was taking a nap). We decompressed a bit before heading out for dinner as a group. While we were at Justin’s, we ended up splitting a beer, and digging in to some homemade applesauce and part of that chocolate cake I got.

Dave and I also paused to make fun of the cereal Justin purchased from Whole Foods:

When we got back to Justin’s car, we ended up trying to track down some new vegetarian restaurant that Dave had heard about. We found it but, unfortunately, it was closed. We turned around and headed back towards my neck of the woods, thinking about Hi Ricky’s. Instead, we found a parking space really close to my old apartment, and decided to go to Las Palmas instead. Justin and I split a half pitcher of margaritas and all of us left that place pretty darn stuffed.

Emma talked about her upcoming trip back to England (for a wedding), and it made me wistful for a road trip. The idea of going out west (driving to California) came up, and we talked about options a bit… though not too seriously. New Orleans was mentioned, and ever since I went there earlier this year (I went before I started this blog) I’ve wanted to go back.

Justin made me promise that, the next time our company has a three-day weekend, we’d trek down to New Orleans. I told him I promised and he replied with "I’m throwing the gauntlet down!" He then leaned over and smacked me in the face with a one dollar bill. So, for whatever that means, I guess we’re going to New Orleans sometime soon. :)

Right after dinner, Dave, Emma and Justin pose for a quick pic in front of the racy mannequins.

Regardless of the time of year, these ladies have always found Chicago rather chilly.
