Bridges Need Locks Too

Today seemed to be full of synchronization… the universe tying itself into a perfectly formed knot. At the Division stop, I spotted Justin jumping into my car, and we started off the morning together. On the walk to work, we both noticed this new addition to the Wells Street bridge:

At work today, Dave stopped in and hung out with us for the remainder of the afternoon. He is actually an ordained minister from the Universal Light Church, and needed to print out a few documents. He’s performing two wedding ceremonies this summer, and needed some documentation. :P

Later on, as we were making our way out of the building… I asked for his official title. Technically, he’s a reverend.

In the hallway, I shoved him.

I can now say that I’ve officially shoved a reverend.

After work, Justin and I ran into Liz and Steph at Pontiac. We chatted a while and, due to the large crowd there, he and I headed to Rainbo. We had a few drinks, talked shop a while, and headed back to his place to make some calls. I ended up talking to my good friend Jim, and scheduled a birthday party for him in Chicago in two weeks. We also called another old friend, Lloyd, who’s in New York. All of us (me, Justin, Ben, and Matt) are travelling out to NY in a week. More on this later. :)

On my way home, I stopped in to a local record store and was looking for something by Rufus Wainwright. For some reason, I’ve had his voice stuck in my head and wanted to hear his album. The guy at the cash register suggested "Poses," and convinced me to buy it instead of his other album. We talked for a while, and it was cool to get a recommendation from someone who was really into the artist I was interested in.

On my way home, I ran into Liz and Steph! This is what I mean about synchronization. It felt nice and relaxing, running into friends on my way home. They were on their way to spend a lazy evening, and I was headed home to do the same.
