Post Work

After work, all of us (Rey, Justin, Ben, Tony, me) all had a few drinks and did the whole geek/tech thing. Before 8:00 PM, I had a good four shots in my belly. The noise/atmosphere wasn’t exactly condusive to collaboration, but we managed to hit a lot of interesting topics (shifting from Freud to station identity to scalability).
We had a really good time talking. I wish I would have stuck around a bit longer, to hang out with Tony… but I was ready to call it a night fairly early on. By the time it hit 8 PM, I was ready to come home, and hole up. I felt bad that I didn’t stick around to hit more bars, but I just wasn’t in a mood to tear up the town. Part of me felt justified in leaving early, and part of me felt cheap, for letting a Chicago visitor down, and cheating them out of a night on the town.
Interestingly, Tony is a coworker who found out about the blog and checks it. Per his request, I broke out the camera at the Shamrock and snapped a picture of him and Justin, talking (Tony wanted to get his fifteen minutes on the blog). —–
