I stumbled home at about 3:50 AM to find this sticking out of my mailbox.

Juliet!! Matt!! You guys rock!!

I got a lovely card from Juliet and Matt, along with some great gifts. I got a book of poetry, some noodles, and a bunch of photographs that Juliet took.

Turns out, the two of them are going to visit Chicago again at the end of the month. The gifts were partly as a response to the break-in that happened here some time ago. And the photographs are a combo: one is from Juliet’s trip to Germany (where she saw my name on a sign), and a handful of photos she took from a party that Jim and Meghan threw, way back in May of 2003.

What a great thing to receive, especially after an 18-hour day! You guys are awesome.

I’m a lucky man, to have so many great friends who mail such great gifts. I’m very lucky indeed.
