Corporate Dinner

Three of the IT guys from Emmis Corporate (Indianapolis) were visiting, and Rey took everyone out to eat. Nearby steakhouse. 12 oz. filet. Medium rare. Smashed potatoes with bacon. Bass. I can barely move. I’m typing this with my nose.

Slow Day

Well, I’ve done some laundry and that’s as productive as I’m going to get. I sat on the couch with my cat, and we watched tv for a while. It was everything I thought it would be. Early night tonight – gonna try to read some.

Go Buckeyes

Heard about this a few days back. In the three years I was there, I never attended a game. I did all my rioting after poetry readings. :|

Improving Beer

I went to Target yesterday, and bought a ton of crap. Silverware, plates, house stuff. And as I’m walking around the aisle, I notice this little gem. Next thing I know, it’s in my cart. And this is what it sounds like. I know what you’re thinking. And you’re right. After about 2 times, it gets annoying. :)

Guess Who…

has been drinking beer so long, he’s no longer able to regulate and pace liquor? Watching Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf last night was great. Liz, Steph and Chelsea all came over, drank and were amazed by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. I first saw this film while I was an undergrad. Not sure why, but damn – I’m so…

This Is Just Asking For Trouble

I’m amazed that this product even exists. On the commercial, it was touted as some sort of "Easy Bake Oven," and the cookies you could make looked fantastic. Only at the end of the commercial did they say something to the effect of … and your friends can bake delicious looking cookies. Warning: Cookies are not edible. Why would any…

Why Is It That…

When you’re hungover on a Saturday, watching cartoons on tv – every other commercial is for macaroni? And it’s done in a claymation style, where it’s raining macaroni shells and people are surfing on tidal waves of cheese. I mean, I guess this appeals to young kids who like their cheese. But why aren’t they thinking of me, hungover on…

Drinks With The Girls

Earlier tonight, Liz calls me up and asks about a particular book she and Steph leant me, a few months back. We get to talking and they invite me out to have drinks with them and Chelsea. The bar is Lemming’s, and it’s quite cool – a short bit up Damen, and a very relaxed atmosphere. The whole time, I’m…

Speaking of Bricks

This came up earlier tonight. Amazingly, there have been a lot of these created… Another ex-girlfriend of mine (different one from the dream), always talked about us recreating the Tower of Babel out of legos. Another project we had was to recreate the Winchester mansion, completely out of legos. Ok. Hey. The blog is turning into ex-girlfriend central.

Múm

Alright. I’m not one to typically care for "electronic" music. In fact, I’m not even sure if that’s the right term for this particular category of music. My understanding of music (outside of basic music theory) is woefully inadequate. Enter my friends. Justin leant me a CD today. I had heard snippets of it when we were performing some global…

Mural

Two days back, I noticed they were tearing down a few buildings near where I live. One thing I forgot to mention was the amazing mural that ran alongside one of the walls, on my old street Honore. Well, tonight, on my way home, I decided to grab a shot of the (now) demolished wall: Here’s a small portion of…

Dear Brain, Thanks for Nothing

Two days ago, I woke up in the middle of the night. I was a bit disoriented and hazy, since it was around 1 or 2 in the morning. I started smiling then, because I remembered the dream I was having, only moments before. I was in a kitchen somewhere, making breakfast or lunch (it still seemed bright outside in…

Don

Today, on my way to the Blue Line, I see a guy who’s taking a picture of the nearby water tower. I stop to ask him what he’s shooting, and we start talking. I notice that he’s got exactly the same camera as me, and I pull my Olympus out. We both laugh and do a bit of show and…
