An Odd Thing About Alabama Drivers

Driving in Sandy’s hybrid, I realized that, when she comes to a stop… the car completely turns off. It turns silent, and it literally is "off." When she pushes in the clutch and shifts out of Neutral, the car starts up again. It’s weird, to have the car suddenly go silent – out of nowhere.

Turns out, on country roads… people tend to tailgate a lot. But if there’s a line of cars and the lead car signals a left turn, everyone else behind that lead car also throws on their left turn signal. The reason this happens is to alert everyone that "someone up ahead is going to turn left."

Fucking weird.
