Colts

Holy Christ Almighty. I don’t tend to watch sports of any kind, but I’ve been wanting to watch the Colts play lately. Earlier tonight, I flipped on the game and saw they were down by like 21 points. Around 11:00 PM, I passed by the television… wondering if they lost.

Turns out, they ended up tying in the 4th, 35-35. I can’t even describe what happened. Crazy penalties. Two onside kick attempts. Despite a bad call at the very end, the Colts kick (re-kick is more accurate) a field goal attempt… and it goes in after hitting the post. Fucking nuts.

Like I said – I’m not a big sports fan. I was talking to Matt and Dustin on IM the whole time, asking things like "So is there a coin toss in Overtime?" and "First person to score wins, right?"

What an exciting game. I may be talking out of my ass here, but that game felt like one for the history books.

I even called my dad in Indy, after the Colts won. He was watching earlier, but had turned off the TV assuming they’d get trounced. He was yelling and excited as I told him what happened, near the end of the 4th. As we ended the conversation, I think he ran off to turn on ESPN.

Seriously – this is weird. SOOOO not a sports person.

Maybe this is a good portent for the Colts this year. :)
