Thanks for the motivation

Right now, I need to thank both Mr. Grumpy and Matt Z for helping motivate me with writing. Grumpy made some comments today, and we talked about both the option of self-publishing and the typical process of writers publishing work. And Matt? He’s been pushing me for years, and always encouraged me to get my writing in the mail.

Matt (a strong poet in his own right) and I have been trading poems back and forth for some time now, trying to keep one another on a haphazard, regulated schedule, writing-wise. What discipline I have now, I owe to him.

Today, I’m happy to say that I bought the latest Poet’s Market book.

Of course, I did something like this in a burst about two years ago, and that book just sat on my fucking shelf unopened. Hopefully though, this year will be different.
