Let the Feasting Begin


For an appetizer, we had…. this stuff. I forget what this is called, but it’s soybeans (slightly steamed) and coated in salt.

I had never had these before, and to my surprise they were quite good. The entire meal, everything felt really slow. But this struck me as intentional, since there really didn’t seem to be all THAT many people during lunch. The entire time, everyone talked and moved as though they expected a lengthy lunch, and I fell into step. We nibbled on appetizers for a while, got our miso soups and salads… and then had sushi. I swear, it must have been a two hour lunch.


Even the soy sauce bottle is stylish.
