Sushi Samba!
We all got to go out for lunch today, partly as a birthday celebration for me, and partly (sadly) a going-away party for Jill – who’s going off to bigger and better things in New York. I had never been here before and, let me state for the record… swanky. This is one of those places I doubt I’ll return to own my own, at least without some seriously special occasion.
That said – this place rocks. :)

On entering the joint, what’s striking is the focus of the prep area, where the chefs are serving up all the sushi. For a town that has more than its share of boxy, narrow Victorian buildings… this type of open interior is quite refreshing.

Bar area. If I ever feel like getting bombed on expensive, fancy drinks in a setting that allows me to wallow in some kind of feigned metrosexual angst… this is the place.

Two comparisons were made to the curtained area, at the far end of the room (both of which apply, in my opinion). First: Many felt that the people eating in this area looked like they were contestants on $10,000 Pyramid. Second: Many felt that this area had a certain “drag queen” feel, as far as the curtains went.

Here’s a few of us Interactive folk. Left to right, it’s Anthony, Jill, Deb and Rob.
