Mike: The Gauntlet Is Thrown

Mike and I have played two games so far, and it looks like chess might make a comeback in our workplace. Mike beat me the first time we played, and today was my chance for redemption!

While I won today’s game, Mike got in a great taunt earlier in the day. He walked by my desk and asked me: Hey, are you gonna set up that board so I can kick your ass again?

Good stuff. Ben and I used to play a fair amount of chess (check out the killer set he made, while we’re on the subject of chess). Rey likes to play occasionally as well. The really cool thing about playing chess with Rey is that, since he’s technically my boss… it makes the goofing off ok. And once he starts playing, he can’t stop until we’re done.

I really need to buy a chess clock, so we can start playing some speed chess. I hope this trend continues – until now, I had forgotten how much I really liked playing.
