Matt and Mel

Matt (Tha.Riddla) and Mel stopped by the Q101 office this morning.

I found out that Death Cab for Cutie was playing in the studio, and let Matt know. He had expressed interest in them to me before, and I offered to sneak him in for a listen. He and Mel stopped by, and we all got to go into the adjoining studio (next to where the band was playing), and were able to listen/watch.

On asking around, I discovered that Death Cab for Cutie was playing a Q101-sponsored show tonight, and went to find out about extra tickets. Andy, the good guy that he is, was able to hook Matt and Mel up with two tickets to the show (and got them on the Q101 guest list to boot).

I really need to find a way to thank Andy and pay him back. He treats us right back here.

Matt was really nice, and brought two gifts: some coffee from his workplace (Intelligentsia) and a t-shirt to boot.

Sidenote: I’ve been remiss in updating the trip we call took to Intelligentsia, some months back. One of these days soon… I promise, I promise… I’ll have all those pics and videos up.

I gotta tell you… this coffee smells fan-fucking-tastic. I’m not a morning person, and not one who usually eats breakfast. But I’m making it a point to wake my lazy ass up early tomorrow so I can make some eggs, and brew up a bit of this coffee. Yeah!
