Snow++
This is a view of my yard, from the front door. The square pot thingy was always a good indicator, when I was growing up, of how much snow had actually fallen.
Backyard view.
My parents have a few pines on the property that, if they were given more to the holidays, would make for some great big Christmas trees. One of these days, I should buy a ton of lights and string them up for the holidays here.
Most of today was how I spent the week. Wake up. Work a little bit. Talk with my mom. Haul some things from my parents’ house to my sisters’ place. Watch movies with the folks at night. Repeat.
Very relaxing, and very low key.
Tonight, I watched Shaolin Soccer with my folks – which was a ton of fun. Partly because the movie is a riot. But a big part of it is that the movie is in Chinese (mostly Cantonese, but with a smattering if Mandarin). It was great to be able to hear them laugh at certain parts. I relied more on the English subtitles, but watching this with them… I was listening to the Chinese a bit more. Good stuff.
