Notes

I’m sitting at a bar alone for the first time in what feels like a year. Now that I no longer smoke, it’s hard to figure out how to occupy my hands, my time.

Most everyone else here is in a group or pair. It feels awkward to sit alone with only an empty chair for company. Earlier, I was half-tempted to begin a conversation with some random stranger… but I’ve seen the same guy walk up to 3 different girls, trying to (loudly) start up a conversation.

Is it left to this? Romance reduced to the braggarts who talk without purpose, banking solely on odds?

For want of anything else, I’ve added my name to the pool queue.
