The car goes missing. Again.
Early today, Liz and I were driving around (in my car). I decided to swing us by her car, so she could survey the damage and figure out what to do.
A few days ago, I noticed a sticker on the car saying that it needed to be moved as it was considered an abandoned vehicle. The note said I had until the 28th to get it relocated, so we still had a bit of time.
On driving up, the car was missing. Again.
We went to my apartment and tried calling all over. The city had no record, and it looked as though someone had stolen the car. Again.
Well, a few hours pass and Liz gets a call on her cell. It’s the city calling saying “Hey, we located your stolen car and have towed it for you. Come pick it up.”
We discover, later, that as protocol the police tow all stolen vehicles. This, despite the fact that Liz chose to recover the vehicle, once the police reported that the had found it. Well – things work out for the best it seems, as Liz can just leave the car in the impound lot and the city will just get rid of the car for her.
A big waste of two hours, but thankfully no charge for the towing. Liz did end up getting two tickets on her car (one for not having a city sticker; one for not having a license plate). But I’m hoping she can get those thrown out fairly easily since… you know, the car was stolen earlier.

Hanging out at the impound lot, on Sacramento.

Liz was able to recover a few CD’s and an umbrella, but that’s about all.
