Nezhukumatathil-tastic!

I’m a bit late with this news, but my friend and MFA alum Aimee Nezhukumatathil just had her latest book released: At the Drive-In Volcano.

I’ve known Aimee a long while now (we met when we both attended OSU for our MFA’s), and while I’ve had the good fortune to read a lot of her work… I’m looking forward to reading even more.

It’s silly of me but I take great pride in the fact that, even after all these years, I can still spell her last name from memory.

Aimee’s a great writer, and even if you’re not someone into poetry – I’d recommend her. Her words are rich and descriptive, but her poems remain very accessible (a huge issue with me, and one of the many reasons why I like Aimee’s work a great deal). For those of you who are into poetry? You could do worse than get a nice blurb from Naomi Shihab Nye.

PS: Noticed that the photo credit on her author’s photo attributes Marion Ettlinger. Look at some of the other authors Ettlinger’s photographed. Wowzers!
