Fun Morning

I was writing up a blog post this AM, and stopped before finishing to head to the shower. It was bright enough from the sunlight in there, so I didn’t bother with turning on the light. By the time I got out, I realized that the power was out in the kitchen (coffee maker was off, fridge was silent).

After a minute, I realized that it wasn’t just a blown fuse but ALL the power in apartment. Confirmed with ComEd that the power was down for the area, but also found out more info from Twitter thanks to rachelleb.

Though the ETA for power to come back was given for 9:30 AM (I think it went out around 7:30 AM), everything kicked back on about 10 minutes ago. Glad to not have all the food go south in our fridge, but part of me was really wondering what the Logan Square Blue Line stop would have been like. I’m imagining a large batman like cave, lit with small squares of mobile phone backlighting.
