Dentist Dread
I had my dental appointment today, and went to see Dr. Tobias, D.D.S. He found my gum bleeding "curious," and seemed really intrigued by the whole thing. I felt incredibly bad – he had to clean up five years worth of muck and awfulness that is the inside of my mouth. He could tell I was nervous, and made it a point to explain everything he was doing – why, and what, and how.
He was incredibly nice, polite, professional, and had a really good sense of humor (he apologized repeatedly for his stomach growling, as it was near lunchtime when I visited). I didn’t take any pics, but I’ll try to take some next week. I felt a bit "weird," asking him for permission to take pictures when I was a new patient.
Turns out I have a small cavity that needs filling. I swear to you – I was convinced they were going to pull teeth. The bleeding, apparently, is because my gums need strengthening. I got some kind of rubber-tipped doohicky, which I’m supposed to use along with flossing – to strengthen my gums. With one cavity, all day today, I felt like I won the lottery. Weird, huh? I was genuinely happy today, on hearing this news.
