Visitation

My friend MaryAnn arrived today! She went to school at OSU with me, and is a fiction writer. She knows Chicago so much better than me it’s not even funny. She’s been in NY for a while, and is moving back to the windy city. She’s staying with me a few days, and arrived this morning. Our schedules are a bit hectic, and our paths tend to cross mainly at night.

When she got back from dinner, we both had a beer and talked on the couch for a good while. Got caught up on gossip some, and talked job talk. We made some tentative plans for a dinner together on Thursday, when another OSU alum (Shari) may be in town.

At one point, Juliet IM’ed me and I showed MaryAnn how to use Trillian. It was an interesting moment, with MaryAnn talking to Juliet and me watching, all of us Ohio folk talking through a keyboard and monitor.

We both called it an early night, which was good for me. With MaryAnn here, I think my binge drinking is markedly reduced. :) And, I think I’m finally getting a bit more sleep each night.
