Surfacing

They’re doing construction along Cortland Ave., and have been paving over the road the past few weeks. Near the train stop, I discovered that the road used to be paved with brick. It made me wonder how long the brick had been waiting, underneath all the crap we’d thrown on top of it… and how long it had been since the brick had seen sunlight. In a few days, I’m figuring this part will also be covered up once more, and who knows how long until it sees the sky again?

I decided to take a picture. Maybe this is what photography is about.
