In the mall, the gourmet cheese and wine shop began selling coffee. As an alternative to Starbucks, it’s a local business and they sell coffee for a buck (double shots of espressor for $1 too). Today, I had about six shots over the course of the work day. Oddly, I never really got peppy – I just seemed to be, well… awake. Maybe I was super tired today, and all coffee did was just keep me conscious, nothing more.
Towards the end of the day (this was one of those nonstop, lunch at the desk type days), I started to get a tremendous headache. I rarely get headaches, and as such don’t really keep aspirin around the house. It’s lasted for most of the night, and I can still feel banging away, dully, at my temples. Right now, I’m wondering if the espresso gave me this headache – I’ve never really had much espresso before, let alone six shots.
Tonight, I spent most of the night on the couch, watching Season I of Andromeda on DVD. I watched a few episodes when I first moved to Chicago, but never really made it a point to catch the weekly airing (usually on Sundays, around 10 or 10:30 at night). Mainly though, I knew I’d get hooked if I watched enough. There are a few TV shows out there that I can see myself getting addicted to, in a gotta-get-home-must-see-it-every-week kind of way.
Somehow, despite how little I actually do… I never seem to have enough hours in the day. Regular TV shows can never be a good thing.
The episodes were good. I’m a fan of the character Tyr Anasazi, a Nietzschean. Interesting how Roddenberry always seems to create one particular species that really stands out from the rest. Yes, at heart, I’m a big Star Trek fan, although not in the convention attending sense. But Andromeda doesn’t really have anything to do with Star Trek. I think it was just originally conceived by Roddenberry.
Alright – my brain’s not really here, and I’m having a hard time focusing on things with the headache.
Hopefully, Ben and I will have the Twisted Flash minisite up and running tomorrow. I’ll throw a link on here when it’s done.
