Twisted IX

These came in yesterday, and today I wore my t-shirt like a high schooler. I have to admit – I’m a fan of Rey’s decision to go with a less prominent logo on the shirt. On the back, there’s the standard station/Q101 identity… but the main focus of the shirt is fairly nondescript. Rey felt that people would gravitate towards a cool design, and not necessarily a shirt that screamed "concert shirt." I wholeheartedly agree.
In case you haven’t seen the Twisted IX site Ben and I made, check out Q101.
The design agency that Q101 uses is Segura. I’ve only heard the name, and various people mentioned here and there. Ben used to work for T-26, and I think Justin did some work for them as well. The posters they made for each band, along with the whole booklet… awesome, awesome stuff. Check out some of their work here, and the Twisted IX stuff is listed under "Collateral," the Q101-T9-book-1 and Q101-T9-book-2 entries. A lot, if not all of the individual band posters are spoofs off of old Soviet propaganda posters – and they all look quite slick.
