Just noticed today’s date on the blog. That’s kinda cool. In addition to it being my mother’s birthday today, I’m incredibly partial to the number three. I’m also really keen on the number nine, as it’s the sum of three plus three plus three. See, if you create a 3×3 matrix, you’ll always get the number nine no matter which way…

So, the superstitious part of me says that, given today’s date, something really amazing should have happened.

The realistic part of me says that our numeric conventions for what year it is are fairly arbitrary, and that one particular day is no more important than the next.
