Offering
So I didn’t write. I didn’t do any Photoshop. What I did do was go over a lot of my old pieces. Bits of writing I did, early on in my time as wanna-be poet at Ohio State.
One of the things I did, while a graduate student in the MFA program there, was take a fiction-writing class. I’ve got tons of good things to say about MFA programs, but I’ll hold that off for another day.
I figured, since this whole week has been full of complaining and whining, I thought I’d offer up some incentive for all you dedicated readers.
In this fiction workshop, I ended up trying my hand at a short storry. Overall, I think I had in mind a novel… but hell, my attention span might not ever accomodate such an endeavor. There are tons of flaws (grammar and tense being two major ones), but I figured I’d share a bit of what I made a few years ago. I have nothing productive to offer this evening (sorry Matt), and I figured I’d make up for it by offering up this bit of nostalgia.
And if you find this remotely interesting, hell… wait until my fiction writing friends publish their work. I know so many talented writers… it’s just a matter of time before their books appear on bookshelves. I am incredibly serious about this.
