I’m Whitney Houston
Unfortunately, little of interest happened today. I’ve got nothing.
I’ve been cleaning most of the day. Going through boxes of crap that I’ve let sit in a corner for longer than I’d like to admit. For some reason, I like to keep every scrap of paper just in case it might prove useful at some future point. I dug through a ton of papers, and weeded a lot of things out.
At this point, most of my apartment is clean. Overall, it’s probably the cleanest it’s ever been since… well, hell… ever!
Oh, and in the event that some of you don’t know: the reason for my cleaning? I’m hosting a big gaggle of 12Stoners, in a little under a week. Folks from all over are converging on Chicago (much like they did last October). But they’re coming to meet, to drink, and to celebrate MoonDragon’s birthday.
Man. I’m a bit nervous. All these folks, crashing at my place. Right now, I’m not even sure how many, exactly, are coming. I think there will be room, but I’m expecting folks will spill into the kitchen. Hopefully, there’s enough floorspace. :)
Like last time, I’m worried by the fact that I’m not the greatest tour guide of Chicago. It’s not like I’m out bar-hopping every weekend, or going around… well, shit. You’ve read the blog. I’m a huge homebody.
I know. I’m probably overreacting on this. But so many people are coming, from so many different places… designers and developers from Seattle, Canada, California, Baltimore… shit, people are arriving from all over. Several are spending a lot of money to get here, and I want to make sure, as best I can, that they’ll have a good time.
And yes, deep down.. they’re coming here to meet up with one another, to hang out and drink. Everyone interacts so much on a daily basis that it’s going to be a blast to talk and meet one another in person. I’d like to think that everyone had fun last time, and it’ll be the same this time as well.
I’ve got some things in mind for everyone. Most folks are planning on the Art Musuem again, and I’m wondering if going out for tapas on Saturday night will be a good choice to celebrate Melissa’s birthday. One of the twelvestone members, persist, mentioned a tour of his workplace at IBM. I talked with Ryan about a possible tour of the Q101 DJ area, and he seemed really cool with it.
I promise you this – in a week’s time, you’re going to see some pretty interesting pictures. :)
