Late Night: Continued

Wow. It’s about 4:53 PM right now, and I’m still awake. I’ve been up since yesterday morning (an unexpected all-nighter popped up), and everything feels a little hazy and a little farther away than usual.

Work was pretty good. Not as exhaustive as some all-nighters have been. But it also wasn’t all puppy dogs and rainbows, either. The worst part of things was that the building shut off its air-conditioning, sometime around midnight. And so, us being tucked away in the back of our office space… the air got really thick and heavy and just plain uncomfortable. This went on until about 4 AM or so, when the AC kicked in full-force.

We got a lot done, but I ended today fairly disappointed. I ran into this weird glitch where I couldn’t get a .swf audio file to load in a level. I’ve done this before, a hundred times, and it baffled me as to why this particular instance chose to act up. I was even working off of a previous template, and somehow… this project decided not to cooperate. I spent a good, good long while trying to diagnose and solve, to no avail. I ended up having to throw up a temporary fix, and resign myself to looking at the damn thing tomorrow.

I hate this. It was bugging me the whole time and even now, some several hours later, it’s pissing me off. I know how to do this, I know how to wire up audio in Flash to stream. But for some reason, it’s not working. I’m able to get the audio to load in level0, but for some fucking reason… anywhere else it hangs.

Frustrating.

Ah but hell, I’m going on hour 34 so far, and a few drinks on top of that to boot.
