The Tyger

by William Blake Tyger! Tyger! burning bright In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies Burnt the fire of thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand, dare sieze the fire? And what shoulder, & what art, Could twist the sinews of thy…

XP Install

I spent most of the evening after work, helping Cathie install Windows XP on her machine. Had some good conversations, ate some pizza, and watched a fair amount of television throughout the process. In fact, I remember more of what was on the tube than what was on the computer. As I as installing various programs/drivers, we went through Friends,…

Another Reason I Love My Job

And in particular, another reason I love Phil and Anthony… who gave me free copies of these: I just about went apeshit when I found out I could just have ’em. Now all I need is a TV and a DVD player. ;)

Cranking

It’s not the right word. "Cranking" suggests to me more like I’m working at a very rapid rate, making speedy progress while I’m at it. I need to find another word, something as pleasing to the tongue, to describe working at a slow but steady rate, focused and systematically, incrementally progressing. Grinding? Crunching? I need to think on this one….

Staying In

I was up really late last night, trying to get that poem together. Didn’t get much sleep, and for the second morning in a row… woke up feeling crappy and semi-nauseous. Tonight, I’m heading to bed early. Going to curl up with a book, my cat, maybe a bowl of grapes. I want to read for an hour or two,…

Yikes

Yesterday’s poem. Yeah. Haven’t fallen on my face like that in a while. But still – a good exercise to go through, all told. Now. Let’s never speak of this again.

What It’s Done So Far

by Felix Jung I have a version of “The Rainbow Connection,” as sung by some punk rock band that bangs their instruments and yells a lot. Despite distortion and the heavy drums, I know they mean the words. I hear it in the waythe singer pushes every note until it almost breaks. The part about the sailors and the voices…

A lot of folks I’ve met online are in this one. Check out the book’s main page: www.photoshoptennisthebook.com. Among the designers involved: Matt (Tha.Riddla), Audrey (audrey), Ian (arigato), Christine (smartiehouse), Evan (templeton), and Michelle (chelle2008). Some incredibly talented folks here, and some big, big names on the TOC. Check it out!

Flesh THIS Out, Beyotch! :P

From: templetonTo: FelixSubj: don’t hit me :) [quote] I owe two poems still from this week: one for Friday, one for today. During the day trip yesterday, Alex gave me the assignment to write a poem while we were out and about. I have an idea that I have yet to flush out, but any writer worth his mettle will…

Just So You Know

By reading this blog, any and all e-mail correspondence sent to me becomes "fair game." By reading this paragraph, either out loud or in your head, you waive any and all rights you may have over sent e-mails in perpetuity throughout the universe. Just a FYI.

I owe two poems still from this week: one for Friday, one for today. During the day trip yesterday, Alex gave me the assignment to write a poem while we were out and about. I have an idea that I have yet to flush out, but any writer worth his mettle will say that in a heartbeat. So whatever. I’ve…

Sunday Night Kegger. Sorta

Here’s a snapshot of the evening. Stu was having a bunch of people over at his place, mainly to celebrate the fact that Alex is in town for a week. To add to the festivites, Alex’s good friends Jason and Claire are also in town. From left to right: Stu, Justin, Jason, Claire. That’s Rob at the bottom of the…
