An Email, and a Sidenote

I got a great email from Gretchen today, who send out a cool message to a bunch of us. In addition to her excitement about the nearing of Spring, she included a poem by Bob Hicok. Interestingly enough, Hicok is someone who we published a lot at The Journal (the name of the literary journal at Ohio State University), back when I was attending school there.

Not only that, I believe I ran into him at Palm Springs briefly, during an AWP Conference out there a few years back. We shared an elevator down to the lobby, but I recall very little as there was a lot of boozing going on at the time (hey, come ON – it’s a bunch of writers). We may or may not have shaken hands.
