Get Rich Slow Scheme

Justin and I had a few drinks after work and, as we are want to do, ended up geeking out some. Last weekend, I ended up working with him on developing a Flash-based audio player. In return, I’m able to tap Justin’s considerable database/programming prowess for some project of my own… but I’ve yet to figure out what that’s going to be.

Part of me thinks it’s going to be blog-related. But a bigger part of me wants to start something completely separate. Something that’s primarily user-oriented, or user-submitted. Somewhat self-sustaining. Involving repetition. Variations on a theme. I’m not sure what I really want, but my sense is that I want it highly interactive.

On a side note, we got into talking about developing an application for writers. While not the ideal demographic when you’re talking about expendible income, I think we’ve identified a potential need and a potential niche. While it’s not going to make a crapload of money, we both have a sense that this thing’s got some legs. We’ll see.

During the night, I found out that Opie did, indeed, check out the blog. He said he was digging around, trying to find the specific day that I asked if I could take his picture. He seemed pretty amazed that I track every single day. The word he used was, I believe, “psycho”.
