The Illinois Arts Council was pleased to have had the opportunity toconsider your applicationfor a fellowship in poetry. I regret to inform youthat it was not one of those selected for funding.

Funding decisions are based on the evaluation criteria published in theapplication guidelines.Illinois Arts Council grants are highly competitive. Annually the totalamount requested by Illinois artists and arts organizations substantiallyexceeds the funds available from the General Assembly of the State ofIllinois and the National Endowment for the Arts for distribution by theCouncil. I encourage you to consider reapplying in the future.
