The First Annual Putt-Putt Green Design Competition

Check out the upcoming mini-golf course from Material Exchange and Experimental Station. It’s called The First Annual Putt-Putt Green Design Competition, and course designers have to use reclaimed materials, as well as provide a future use for the course… once the putt-putt is over.

I wasn’t 100% sure about the details after looking at their site, and ended up emailing the folks. I’m not crazy about the green-on-green layout, as that’s really tough to read. And, after looking around on the site… I couldn’t easily find out where the course ways, or when people could play.

Turns out there’s a tournament you can sign up for on Sunday… but anyone can play during regular hours.

The course is at The Experimental Station (6100 South Blackstone), and it’s open to the public starting March 29th:

Thursday, March 29: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Friday, March 30: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Saturday, March 31: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Sunday, April 1: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Monday, April 2: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Sounds like a fun time, despite the look of the promotional website. And hey, how can you beat free minigolf? That’s right. You can’t.
