Training Session

A quick shot of the Design Team, in a training session led by Phil (far right). Though we’re all intimately involved with the site launch portion of our business (the design and html/css part of it), there have been significant changes to the BaseStation tools since we first opened our doors in April.

With each new development sprint, more and more functionality is added in. And to me, it seemed like a good time to give everyone another overview of all the tools that our clients use, day in and day out.

While we build out and code sites from the ground up, few of us have worked intimately with some of the more granular aspects of our product. Things like setting up a custom contest, for example, or scheduling a concert calendar entry for some future release date.

Today was, in my opinion, a great opportunity to see our product from the other side of the keyboard, and to delve deeper into how our clients/webmasters work, day to day. While we learned about new tools and features, folks also noted areas where we might be able to improve functionality, usability… throwing out ideas and thoughts as to how we might better the interface and the overall user experience.

Looking at everyone, I’m awed at how large our group as grown. And I’m also awed at just how wickedly talented everyone is, too. There’s something about this place that just seems to pull good folks together. I don’t know what it is, but I like it.
