Possible Jury Duty: Calling to Check Status

A few weeks back, I got another notice that I was called for Jury Duty. I’m not sure what this “Summons for Standby Jury Service” is all about. I don’t know if I’m just a potential or, worse, if I might get sucked into one of those multi-week, sequestered trials where everyone ends up in the Witness Protection Program.

Last January, I got my first ever Jury Duty Summons, and really enjoyed going through the process. Although… I did learn my lesson about posting photos of restricted areas, as I received a possible Contempt of Court citation letter. Man, talk about a nervous weekend there… yeesh.

As is usually the case, you never find out if you have to go in until you actually call and check. And you can’t call to check until after 4:30 PM, the day BEFORE you’re scheduled to go in.

Here’s how it shook out for me:
