Visiting Frankfort for Father’s Day
Liz and I went down to Frankfort for the afternoon/evening, hanging out with Bob and her mom. I watched Bob install a new gas line and get their fancy new Weber grill up and running.
Nearby, a small bird had settled and was apparently a little addled or sick or… something. He was just hanging out, letting folks get pretty close up.
Like I said, pretty close. Bob wasn’t sure if the bird was sick or not, as it seemed to have some bugs on his wings.
I got up close, but didn’t see anything. The guy was cleaning himself part of the time, and was totally zonkned out asleep the rest of the time. He hung out here for maybe 30 minutes or so, and by the time we sat down to eat… he had flown away.
There was a nice break in the weather, right as we settled down to eat. Though the sun was out, there was a light misting of rain that fell in the background.
Closeup of the delicious food – corn on the cob, steak with boursin, brussels sprouts and potatoes.
And a little later in the evening… strawberries and shortcake.
