The Biggest Flop Ever
When rabbits get really comfortable, and are at a point where they feel safe and secure… they will oftentimes “flop.” This involves them rolling onto their sides, or doing a kind of “falling down” motion – it’s an act of pure comfort and contentment.
As a human equivalent, imagine plopping down onto a plush reclining chair, or falling down into a deep, soft sofa. You’re about to get your relaxing on.
As prey animals, rabbits don’t do this type of move if they feel wary or in danger. It’s usually a sign that they are relaxed and feel safe/secure.
While I’ve seen many bunny flops in my time, I have never, ever seen any bunny pursue flops with such frequency and… aggression? When she flops, Cloudy really, really flops.

I captured this photo of her flopping 100% onto her back – and she looks like an overturned table. I’ve never seen anything quite like this before.
Oftentimes, Cloudy will almost throw herself into the floor as she flops. For all of our prior bunnies, flops were this rare thing – they happened, but they were few and far between.
With Cloudy, it’s almost as if she flops a few times a day. That this is a kind of default behavior of hers.
All four of her feet in the air – it’s just ridiculous. I guess she’s feeling relaxed.
