Adrift is a beautiful time-lapse video made by Simon Christen. Described as a “love letter” to the fog of the San Francisco Bay Area, it took over 2 years of filming to capture the perfect weather conditions.
Though there’s a lot of great moments, the Golden Gate Bridge really steals the show. It wasn’t until my second viewing that I spotted the shadows of cars along the lights (3:06). Pretty breathtaking.
Afterwards, we drove a few blocks and found our way to a place called stuff. It was a store chock full of antiques, set up in the traditional “booth” style where each area contained items belonging to different folks.
I recently watched a documentary entitled The Bridge, and it absolutely took my breath away. The film is about San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, and the people who go there to jump, to end their lives. In 2004, the director and crew spent an entire year on site, filming the bridge… and many of the 24 suicides that took place…

Liz was keen on seeing the Redwoods and it sounded like a great thing to do. The only bummer was that, all day today, it was raining. Nonstop, cloudy sky raining….
The next day, a bunch of the family were invited out by my uncle Charles for an early lunch. A ton of folks set out from the hotel down to Fisherman’s Wharf – we expected a brief walk, but ended up walking a good thirty minutes or more, before we got there. Along the way, I spotted the usual stuff…
