LOTR: The Return Of The King
I’ve been thinking about this entry a lot today. Instead of describing this movie in ways that others have described this trilogy (sweeping, epic, monumental), I’m just going to say that I had a TON of fun watching this movie. Overall, I was particularly taken by the audio effects throughout, and I would most definitely urge you to see this in the theater.
Like you even need my prodding.
There’s a lot of fighting. There’s a lot of crying. There’s a lot of swelling orchestral music. And it fucking rocks.
One thing I’m going to throw out there: when you see this movie, keep in mind my art-film ending technique, the ten-minute rule. And since this is such a huge movie… let’s expand that timeframe and make it more like a 20 – 30 minute rule.
I don’t want to give away too much about this movie, so I’m going to stop now. But when you see this, I’d be interested in hearing how you would have ended this movie (in order to turn it into an art film).
