Slow Day
You can feel the holidays creeping into everyday office life. Perhaps it’s just that things are starting to die down, somewhat. A lot of my work is subsiding and, regardless of the request… my tasks are starting to lose their intensity, their immediacy. Today, I had a fairly relaxing day overall. I attended to a lot, but took most everything in stride.
I sent off a vacation request to Rey, and I’ve time out my days with the holiday schedule to give myself a lot of time (to loaf and to concentrate on my own little projects). Funny note – I wrote to Rey, asking for specific days off as per his request. I was fairly polite about what days I asked off, and wanted to make sure he got everything in writing. He wrote back to me within 2 minutes, and all the e-mail said was: REQUEST DENIED.
LOL
Of course, he immediately responded with a "just kidding" message. Still, it was still funny to see that kind of smart-ass reply from my boss.
I’ve got tentative plans to redo the blog. Or make a portfolio site. I’m not sure what I want to actually do with my time off. I’ve been kicking around a new version of the blog (at least, one that has a cleaner code base). Guess we’ll see.
Justin slipped downstairs with me, and we had a few drinks at Dunphy’s. On our way, I snapped this picture of the hallway that’s right by our door. This is where most of the deliveries come in, and where the service elevator hits our floor. Down the hall, it links up to a nearby Hair salon, where Emma works. To the immediate right, that door opens up really close to our department.
