Future Camping
Hung out with Chris, Justin and Will tonight after work for a quick drink. The mention of a winter camping trip has been out there for a while, and we ended up kicking around a few scenarios this evening.
Sadly, work is at a pace such that camping anytime in February is going to be a rough prospect. The thought was to utilize the President’s Day three-day-weekend, but I’m wary on planning a trip when there are so many deadlines for us at work, late Feb. So it looks like we’ll hold off and try to plan for something in March.
The options ranged from out and out camping (tents and sleeping bags) to a “mobile party unit” (read: everyone sleeps inside the back of a U-Haul) to ponying up for a fancy cabin, complete with fireplace and jacuzzi. Hopefully, this isn’t just empty talk from a few guys who are getting sick of their Chicago winter rut. The idea of camping is pretty exciting to me – I’d really love to do it, once the weather picks up some.
